About
My name is illana Burk. I began my career as a green consultant somewhere around the age of six. I grew up in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada and used to annoy my friend’s parents by separating their recycling and lecturing them on turning off the water while they brushed their teeth. I choose to believe that it was charming. I have grown up a lot since then, and discovered I have a talent for breaking down the complexities of difficult issues and turning them into custom strategies for any type of business. In my career, I have worked with companies of all sizes: retailers, wholesalers, service providers, and NGO’s. All of them have one thing in common; they came to me because they wanted to stop following trends, and take their place as leaders in their industry, their community, and their planet.
In 2007, I earned a Green MBA in Sustainable Enterprise (www.greenmba.com), and the same year began my own sustainability consulting firm. Today, I specialize helping small businesses green their operations, improve their community engagement, and enliven their marketing with fresh, honest, and effective messaging. I work with an enthusiastic group professionals in the fields of Marketing, PR, Graphic Design, Environmental Engineering, Wildlife Biology and Environmental Mitigation, Life Coaching, Event Planning, the list goes on and on. The point is, my business operates as part of a living, breathing hive of wonderful individual people who are all experts in their field, and who are all committed to small business. Whatever your challenge….we can help you understand your options and find the right solution for your business, your environment, your community, and your bottom line.
Currently I am working on a book that will define green for small businesses and act as a launch pad for self evaluation and sustaining change. Stay tuned for more on that!
